THE MOUNT NIGHTCAP COAL.
.» (to the *.ditoe of the Tiium) Sir, — When thrashing on the farm of James Mackintosh, Esq., Strath more, Otautau, I had an opportunity of trying the Mount Nightcap coa'.d for steaming purposes, and I found them to answer very well, either with or without wood. The place where they were dug is distant about lb' miles from the farm, and there is a good road. When tho projected railway is carried into effect this coal will be a considerable item in the economical working of the line, besides traffic it will cause. — I am, &c., John Cummin g.
