WESTERN DISTRICT.
(from our oto correspondent.) A meeting of the Western District Fanners' Club was held at Mr William Coder's on the 19th hut. ; Mr John M' ln tyre, vice-president, in the chair. T ; ie minute* of former meeting having been read and confirmed, the Secretary real a letter from Mr Theo. Daniel, referring to land for show ground, & \ Mr Daniel, who was present, give sone information as to the steps necessary to be frikeo, and the likelihood of the laud being granted. It was moved by Mr M. F.illow, ; seconded by Mr J. Hamilton, and carried unanimously, "That this Clubco-.oper.tte with the Riverton people with a view to obtain part of the Maori reserve for public purposes." The' subject of the grain show was | talked over, but the day on which it is to i be held is not yet fixed upon. Comments were made on the disadvantages arising from the Club having two places of meeting, and of the probability of funds being available for procuring one suitable central meeting place. It waa unanimously agreed that there should be one central meeting place for the Club, and that the president be requested to bring the subject before the next meeting. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the business.
