The Telegraph of the 13th inst. reports : — The market for flour and wheat is well maintained. The former is quoted at £14 10s for parcels, and £15 for trade lot?. A large business has been done. Offers of 6s 6d have been made for wheat; and we hear that this figure has been refused for 1,500 bushels. Some sales of inferior to medium are reported at up to 6s 4d, the prices showing great firmness. Several parcels of oats were quitted to-day; and, in addition to other transactions, some 1,500 bags changed hands at 3s to 3s 3d! About 1,000 bushels of maize found buyers at 3s s£d, and the demand remains very good. The business in sugars is just now confined entirely to trade lots. We hear that the entire cargo of the Elizabeth has been disposed of in Geelong at. prices fully supporting the market. A disposition to speculate in kerosene oil has ayain evinced itself, and we hear of close upon 3,000 cases having been bought up at Is lOsd for Brilliant. Sales of Oriental have also been effected at a price fully supporting the market. Teas are very dull, only the most ordinary trade sales taking place. t A line of 250 half-chesis gooft. common congou was taken at 11 id in bond. Some inquiry has taken pace again for soda crystals, and at £10 10s sales could have been closed,, but holders are firm at £11. At the bonds twenty-three packages tobaccoes were disposed of at for half-pounds Is Id; pocket pieces, fives, and fours, all at Hid. In liquidi we observe a fair demand for ale and stout, and Tennent's ale has been quitted at 10s. Dagger brand stout, 9a 9d.
