The Dunedin Jockey Club races came off at the Forbury on the 22nd and 23rd ult. The weather on both days was excellent, and the attendance numerous. Douglas's b f Rosiaa, 3 yrs ... 3 Five started. Time, 2 mm. 24 sec. Fobbubx Handicap, of 150 soys., with a sweepstakes of 3 soys. each ; second horse to receive amount of sweepstakes. 1£ miles. Mr E. Pritchard's b m Gazelle, 5 yrs, 6sfc lOlbs 1 Mr E. Griffiths' s eh f Defamation, 3 yrs, Bst 61bs 2 Mr A. Patterson's br g Burgundy, aged, Bst 7lbs 3 Ten started. Time, 3 mm. Selling Kf übdle Race, of 40 soys. 1J miles, over seven nights of hurdles, 3ft. Bin. high. Mr J. A. Douglas's b m iledora, 6 yrs, 12st lib 1 Mr E. Pritchari's b g Nigger, aged, Bst lib 2 Five started. A. protest was lodged againsfc Medora for not jumping the first bar lie, which wa3 sustained by tiio Stewards, so that Nigger was declared the winner. SECOND DAY. Handicap Hurdle Race, of 80 sov3. nomination, 3 boys ; the second horse to save his stake. 2 miles and a distance, one event, over ten nights of hurdles, 3ft. Bin. high. Mr J. A. Douglas's b tn Medora, 6 yre, list 101 b 1 Mr A. Patterson's b in Maid of the Mill, aged, 9st 21b 3 Mr G-. The winner to be sold by auction, and the whole of the proceeds of the sale of tha horse to go to the funls. Mr Douglas's b f Rosina, 3 yrs, Bst lib ... 1 Mr Patterson's brg Burgundy, aged, lOst ... 2 Mr G. Dodson's eh g Banjo, aged, 7st 71b ... S Ten started. Time, 2 mm. 54 sec. The winner was sold for £50. Consolation Handicap, of 50 soya. One mile. The following horses started : — Gossip, Bst 51b ; Young Dainty, 73t 81b; Saladin, 7-st 6lb ; Wildboy, 68t 121 b; Minx, Bst 41b ; Catapult, 7st ; Foretop, 7st 6.b ; Lyndon, Bdt 71b ; Banjo, 6st 7ib ; Flying Fish. 7st 71b ; and Bobby rfurns, 6st 101 b. The race was won by Lyn ion j Young Dainty coming in second, and Bobby Burns third.
