| Sir, — As you have frequently directed attention to the dilapidated state of the bridge over the Mokotua Creek, will you kindly insert the following reply to a communication I addras^ed to His Honor the Superintendent on the subject : — Secretary for Works Offija, Dunedin, 14th March, 1872. Sib,— l hare been directed by HU Honor the Superintendent to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the llth March, with reference to the state of the Bridge over the Mokotua Creek, on the Bluff Road from Invorcargill, and ia reply to inform you that the Engineer of Roads has been instructed to inquire into the matter, and if necessary have the Brid^o amended to.— l have.&c. H. LAKEMiN, In the absence of the Under Secretary. I am, &c, Thomas Perkins.
