" I once dreamed," said Pat, " that I called upon the President, and he axed me wud I drink. I tould him I didn't care if I tuk a drop of punch. ' Cowld or hot ?' axed the President. ' Hot, yer Excellency, 1 and he stepped down in the kitchen for some bilin' water ; and before I he got back I woke strate up ; and now it's distressing me that I didn't take it cowld."
