The a§ Storm Bird left DuneJin on Thursday, 29th nit, and experienced strong westerly gales, which compelled her to take shelter under the Nuggets. She sailed from here for Riverton •hbrtly after her arrival, from thence ahe will proceed to Invercargill to load for Dunedin. The geioonera -[Florence and Emulous sailed •early .on Sunday morning for Melbourne, the former having a cargo of grain, and the latter tawn timber. The Florence is an Auckland "built fore and aft schoner, and is said to be very fast. - To sustain her reputation, her captain "will make a strong effort to arrive before the Emulous, which is a larger and heavier craft. The s.s. Albion arrived at tie wharf at 11 a.m. •on the 2nd. She left Melbourne on the 26th -alt., and passed through Port Phillip Heads at *-6 p.m. the same day, and Swan Island at 3 p.m. the following day. Experienced light variable -winds the next three days, and on the Ist a -strong S.W. gale, with heavy sea. Passed the Solander Island at 4 a.m. on the 2nd, and arrived here as above. Discharged 30 tons of •-cargo, and sailed for Dunedin at 5 p.m. the same tfay.
