together of 1,454 bales, will then be brought forward. Our quotations for the various qualities aw aa follows : — Low and half-dressed, £22 10s to £24 15a ; medium half to well dressed, £25 to £28 ss; good medium dressed, £29 5s to £32 5a ; and very good to fine, £33 to £35 5s per ton- Tow, £14 5a per ton. PRESERVED MEATS. "We have pleasure in being in a position to state on the present occasion that during the month there has been an increasing demand for thfe article, at enhanced prices. At auction on sth inst., upwards of 4000 cases beef and mutton were offered, and for the lots sold there was considerable competition at an advance of fully Jd per lb on our last quotations : the demand for mutton was greater than that for beef. The arrivals between 10th ult. and 7th inst. have been 29,110 packages, but if the following figures be accepted, we doubt not they can be moved off at these rates, viz : — Beef, 41b tins, 6£d to 64 J ; do, 61b tins, s|i to 6d ; mutton, 4lb tins, 6£d to 6£d ; do, 61b tins, s£d to 6d.
