♦ — Geet—outh, Feb. '"10. It is feared that the township at the Little Grey junction has disappeared in a flood. News has been received that the whole township at Twelve-mile has gone to sea, excepting one store. One man was seen going down the river on a snag, yelling for help, which it was impossible to afford. All the roads and tracks have been swept away, suspending all communication with the reefs. The large population there will be in danger of starvation. Gbeymouth, Feb. 12. Accounts from the country districts report that great damage has been caused ot houses, bridges, stock, and fencing, and iv some places whole farma have been swept away. In Greymouth most of the people spent Friday night up trees. Over seventy houses were destroyed. Telegrams have been forwarded to Wellington by the Mayor asking aid.
