Distbiot Handicap, 60 soys., with a sweepstakes .of 3 soys added. Open to all horses that have been in the late province of Southland for six months prior to the date of the races. Distance 2 miles. Entrance 4 soys., half j forfeit if declared after weights are published. Hack Selling- Race of 10 soys. Entrance 20s. The winner to be sold for £15, any surplus to go to the Eace Fund. SECOND DAY— FRIDAY, FEB. 23. Handicap Hubdle Race, 35 soys. Open to all horses. Distance 2-^ miles. Over 10 flights of hurdles, about Bft. 9in. high. Entrance 3 soys. Invebcabgill Handicap, 40 soys., with a sweepstakes of 2 soys each added. Distance, 2 miles. Entrance 635, half forfeit if declared after • weights are published. Hack Htjbdle Kace, 20 soys. H miles. Over five flights of hurdles. No less weight than lOst. Entrance 2 soys. Consolation Handicap, 15 soys. For all beaten horses during the meeting. Distance, once round the course. Entrance 20s. Htjbby Scuebt, 5 soys. One event. Distance, once round the course. Catch weights. En- j trance, 10s. Post entry. | RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entries will be received for any of the Races except upon these conditions, that all claims and objoctions arising out of the racing shaii be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. In the event of any person entering a protest, a sum of £2 2s must be lodged with the Secretary, or one of the stewards, before any such protest is considered — this sum to bo forfeited to the funds of the Club should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Rules of late Southland Racing Club strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of 2 guineas to the Kace Fund. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross monies paid in accordance with the programme for expenses. All entries must be sealed and addressed to the Stewards or Secretary (entrance money enclosed), with name, age, pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Three horses to be entered, or no public money will be added. No Jockey allowed to ride except in the coloi's entered. Entries must be made to the Stewards, and addressed to the Club Hotel, Invercargill, before the hour of eight o'clock, p.m. on Tuesday, the 20th February, 1872. Handicaps will be declared the same night, except for the luvercargill Handicap, which will be declared on the evening of Thursday, the 22nd February, 1872, at Pelling's Hotel, Wallacetown, at 8 p.m. All dogs found on the course will be destroyed irrespective of ownership. Racing will commence punctually each day at 12 noon. D, MACRORIE, Secret.arv. Lost and Found £2 REWARD. LOST, from the Oteramika district, a Grey Horse, branded G on the near shoulder, and a Bay Horse, branded with ( — ) on off neck. Any persoD delivering the above to Andrew Brown, Dundas, Oteramika, will receive £1 reward for each horse. JOSEPH LYLE. ' 10s. REWARD. LOST, near One Tree Point, Oteramika, a white and I rown spotted heifer, with calf at foot, and branded on off quarter 7, and on near quarter MP conjoined.
