The steamship Claud Hamilton left Hobson's Bay at 4 p.m. on January 11th, and cleared the Heads at. 8.30 p.m. Experienced light easterly winds during the passage, arriving off Hokitika at 4 p.m. on the 18th ; left again at 8 p.m., and arrived off Grey mouth at 10 p.m. ; left Greymouth at 4 p.m. on the 19th, and arrived in ! Nelson at 3-30 p.m. on the 20th ; left Nelson at I 4.30 a.m. on the 21st, and arrived in Wellington at 4 p.m. same day ; left Wellington at 5 p.m. on the 23rd, and arrived in Lyttelton at 5.30 p.m. on the 24th ; left Lyttelton at 9 p.m., and arrived in Port Chalmers at 10.30 p.m. on the 25th ; left Port Chalmers at 6 p.m. on the 26th, and arrived at the Bluff at 11 p.m. onjhe 27th. xne s.s. maua Hamuton was detained at the Bluff by stress of weather until yesterday morning. The p.s. Samson, Captain Stevens, sailed from Port Chalmers on the 25th, and when off Cape Saunders encountered a heavy sea and strong southerly wind, which rendered it necessary to return to the Heads. At daylight the following morning, the weather still continuing stormy, and vo signs of the wind abating, got up anchor and proceeded back to Port Chalmers ; sailed again on the following day, and arrived at Waikawa at 5.30 a.m. on the 27th ; sailed at 1.30 p.m. same day for Toi Tois, but arrived at the bar too late for the tide, and a south-west gale setting in, a course was shaped for the Biuff, where she arrived at 1 a.m. on the 28th. Capt. Clark, of Port Chalmers, owner of the Samson, with Captain Thomson of the Bluff, and the Harbor Master of Dunedin, were passengers by her. The Harbor Company's p.s. Wallace arrived at the wharf at noon yesterday. Amongst her passengers are His Honor the Superintendent, and the Professors of the Otago University. The "Wallace will sail at 9 a.m. this morning, for Stewart's Island, with His Honor the Superintendent and the Hon. Mr Reeves, returning here to load for Dunedin.

The ship Warrior Queen, from London, arrived in Port Chalmers on the 24th inst., after a passage of 83 days from land to land, and 87 from anchorage to anchorage. The ship Agnes Muir, from Glasgow, arrived the same day, after a splendid passage of 83 days from the Tail of the Bank, Greenock. She brings 100 passengers.
