No entries will be received for any of the Races except upon these conditions, that all claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme Bhall be final. In the event of any person entering a protest, a Bum of £2 2b must be lodged with the Secretary, or one of the stewards, before any such protest is considered — this sum to be forfeited to the funds of .the Club should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Rules of late Southland Racing Club strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of 2 guineas to the Race Fund. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross monies paid in accordance with the programme for expenses. All entries must be sealed and addressed to the Stewards or Secretary (entrance money enclosed), with name, age, pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Three horses to be entered, or no public money will be added. No Jockey allowed to ride except in the colors entered. Entries must be made to the Stewards, and addressed to the Club Hotel, Invercargill, before the hour of eight o'clock, p.m. on Tuesday, the 20th February, 1872. Handicaps will be declared the same night, except for the Invercargill Handicap, which will be declared on the evening of Thursday, the 22nd February, 1878, *t Pelling'B Hotel, Wallacetown, at 8 p.m. < All dogs found on the course will be destroyed irrespective of ownership.
