RAILWAY TRAFFIC RETURNS.

Tlie following are the Southland railway traffic receipts for the month ending 31st ult *. — Bluff Station—

D. Macbobis, auctioneer, reports : — The sale of furniture at the Caledonian Hotel on Wednesday last attracted a good attendance, end in some respects prices, considering no arrangements had been concluded for an incoming tenant, were satisfactory, very few withdrawals taking place. The highest offers for the Broadwood's piano and Alcock's billiard table, with appurtenances, were respectively £42 and £62, and are now for sale by private treaty. The horse market on Saturday exhibited an entire want of animation, none changing hands. I received an offer of £31 10s for one of Young's reapers, but am holding for an advance.
