No entries wiU be received for any of the Races except upon these conditions, that aU claims and objections arising out of the racing shaU be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon aU points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. In the . event of any person entering a protest, a sum of £2 2s must be lodged with the Secretary, [or one of the stewards, before any such protest is considered — this sum to be forfeited to the funds of the Club should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Rules of late Southland Racing Club strictly adhered to. No person wiU be aUowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of 2 guineas to the Race Fund. Five per cent. wiU be deducted from the groBS monies paid in accordance with the programme for expenses. AU entries must be sealed and addressed to the Stewards or Secretary (entrance money enclosed), with name, age, pedigree of tbe horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Three horses to be entered, or no public money wfll be added. No Jockey aUowed to ride except in the colors entered. Entries must be made to the Stewards, and addressed to the Club Hotel, InvercargiU, before the hour of eight o'clock, p.m. on Tuesday, the 20tb February, 1872. Handicaps will be declared the same uight, except for the InvercargiU Handicap, which wiU be declared on the evening of Thursday, the 22nd February, 1872, at PeUing's Hotel, WaUacetown, at 8 p.m. AU dogs found on the course wUI be destroyed irrespective of ownership.
