(limited), until noon of the 15th inst., for the supply of Casks, for tallow, to be delivered at the Company's Works, near Winton. TO CONTRACTORS. rpENDERS are invited for the supply of four 1 hundred and sixty-six (466) twenty feet, and thirty (30) twenty-five feet long Telegraph Poles, to be delivered at Balclutha, or any point or telegraph line between Balclutha and Otaria Creek ; also for the supply of five hundred and seventy-six (576) twenty feet, and sixty-one (61) twenty-five feet long Telegraph Poles, to be delivered at Invercargill or Half-way Bush, or any point or telegraph line between Invercargill and Otaria Creek. The poles to be sawn from the heart of totara. The poles to be of the following dimensions : — Twenty- five (25) feet and twenty (20) feet long (in numbers above given) ; to be eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The poles to be sound, straight, and free from shakes, knots, and sap. 2T.J3. — JVb pole will be accepted which contains the least sap. The poles to be delivered within two months of the date of signing the contract. Tenders are to specify the price per pole as per size given, and point to be delivered at. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of ten pounds (£10), as a guarantee of good faith, which will be forfeited by any tenderer should he refuse to take up his tender in the event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the two proposed sureties. Tenders addressed to Mr Jas. K. Logan, Telegraph Inspector, Tokomairiro, must be sent in not later than the 16th January next. By order of the General Manager, JAS. K.
