A sample of rope manufactured from New Zealand flax was honorably mentioned for its cheapness and quality. It was exhibited by Mr J. Coutts. IMPLEMENTS. Implements adapted to the Agricultural requirements of the colony considered meritorious. In allotting prizes for this class, workmanship, utility, and cheapness were considered. Special prizes offered for such as were of Provincial manufacture. Judges— Messrs Conyers and Gray. A swing plough, exhibited by Brown, Anderson, and Findlay, was awarded honorable mention. A wheel plough, by the same exhibitors, received a first prize on the ground of its adaptability, durability, and simplicity of adjustment to size of furrow. A special prize was awarded to a portable steam thresher (a most complete implement of the kind), exhibited by Mr Crosby. A corn screen, specially adapted to this ■ country, was awarded a special prize.

m THE DINNEH. In the evening about a hundred gentle* men sat down to a dinner in the Prince of Wales Hotel, prepared and laid in Host Smith's best style. The president, J. Dalgliesh, Eiq., occupied the head of the table, and the vice-president, B. Hamilton, Esq., did the honors at the lower end of the room. After due attention had been paid to the substantialities and elegancies with which the tables were loaded, the toasting part of the programme was undertaken and carried through in a most happy vein. Disposing of the uaual introductory bumpers, with the customary loyal demonstrations, the chairman then gave the "Army, Navy, and Volunteers," coupled with "Mr Harvey," which was duly acknowledged by that gentleman,
