Government to receive offers for the construction of the Invercargill and Mataura Eailway, the expenditure not to exceed -6100,000, ahd contingent upon land sales at a minimum of 20s per acre. Mr Clark brought up the reply to his Honor the Superintendent's Message No. 4. It is condemnatory of his action, and is couched in exceedingly strong terms. If it is carried, a crisis will occur. -■- The^Bepresentation Bill has been recommitted. Mr "Wood moved that an additional member be given to Southland, which was: opposed .by the Government, who wanted to reduce the present number by two. ; The motion is likely to be carried.
