CO-OPERATION.
c TO THB EDITOB OP THE TIMES. Sis, — In the notice of a meeting of tbe ~ *■ Southland Farmers* Association," in your issue of the 19th ult., Mr M' Arthur, (referring to the Western District Farmers' Co-operative Association, limited") says — " Although he had been informed that the Eiverton project was lately abandoned, the information had not been generally known, consequently many par-' ties who were sure to enrol as members, had held back in the meantime." I beg respectfully to say that Mr M*Arthur has been wrongly informed. The " Eiverton project" has not been abandoned, nor is it likely to be. The provisional directors are so sanguine of the. project succeeding, that preliminary steps c are now being taken by them for having it started as soon as a sufficient number of shares are subscribed for, which will be within a month if they go on at the c same rate as they are being taken up now. I am, &c, John Cumming.
