M„c_Oßr_, Auctioneer, reports •. — The sale of land in the rooms on Tuesday last commanded a small *t**endance. and an entire absence, of spirited bidding, but -subsequently there was an enquiry for town pmpertv, and I had to place the Esk-street sections under offer at the reserve prices.- ; - The cattle, which should have been yarded at tlie Bridge Inn, were sold privately, £2 10a per head hems* paid for a mixed lot. Furniture lots were well competed for, both there and in the rooms on Saturday. A small lot of fnt stock (beef) changed hnnds at slightly improved rates. Horses show a variable demand — serviceable of every description, however, receiving fair competion. InvercaigiU, 3rd November, 1870. Oamakc, Oct 27. — There has been a slight improvement in the grain market during the last few days, although no material change has taken place in prices. Sellers are still holding back in the hope of obtaining higher prices, and buyers are operating with great caution ; still, tha market is improving. -The following may be taken as the ruling rates •.—-'Wheat, -Is 8d to ss ; oats, 2s 7d to 2s 9d ; potatoes, 30s per ton ;
