Gulnare was foaled in 1822, and imported from England into New South Wales by Mr James Macarthur, of Camden Park. Calendar (half-brother to General Chasse) was imported to New South Wales by the Australian Agricultural Company j was got by Canteen, out of Hambletonian, out of Monica, by Sir Peter (vide Stud Book). Cassandra's sure, Tros, by Pram, out of Ally, by Partizan ; was bred by Lord Albemarle, and imported to New South Wales by Mr Kater, in 1840 (vide Stud Book). Alice Grey's sire, Old Emigrant, by Pioneer, out of Ringt&il, by Buzzard ; was bred by Mr Rush, in 1822, and imported to New South Wales by Admiral Rous, R.N., in 1828 (vide Stud Book). _Bay Camden. is therefore as thoroughbred as Eclipse, and combines in his veins some of the very best strains of racing blood. His dam, Cassandra, made her appearance on the Australian Turf in 1857, and in the short period of eight months beat every horse of note then on that turf, the veteran Jorrocks included; Bay Camden's own performances as a racehorse, under all weights, are far too numerous to enumerate, and of such a character as to have stamped him as the best aged horse that ever figured on the Victorian turf. His symmetry, substance, bone, good constitution, and his being a sure foal-getter, all recommend him as a sire. Bay Camden for three years gained the first prize against every competitor at the Canterbury show ; once with Iraducer, Lethard, Antidote, and Tom King, all imported horses. Bay Camden for two years took the first prize at Dunedin. Bay Camden is the best Thoroughbred Entire in Ofcago : there is nothing to class with him. Terms— £s ; Groom's fee, ss.
