t) t MaCBoETE, Auctioneer, reports: — The cattle sale at Wallacetown on the 14th attracted a good attendance of honafide buyers, although.the.farmers are busily employed on their Own homesteads. After two or three lots had -fallen to the hammer, bidding became animated, and throughout a marked improvement was manifested in rates obtained. The new yards (which are undoubtedly the best suited for hold- ■ ing sales in the Province, having pens sufficient for proper classification) were full, and with the .exception of eight head, the cattle were all sold. The prices were as follows: —Pens of store steere, 84s to 10§sj; young, 48s; dairy cows, from £2 10s to £7 4s ; heifers, 655. I subsequently sold, privately, a; mob of mixed cattle on the run at 63« (young and old). Invercargifl, 15th September 1870.
