TO CORRESPONDENTS.

„ We have received a production, entitled " Ode to New Zealand." As prose, it lacks sentiment, and as verse it is simply execrable. We would recommend the author to try some more congenial pursuit for the employment of his spare time, as it is quite evident the mantle of poesy has not fallen upon him. But perhaps the writer has made' a mistake in sending his " Ode " to this office. The standard of a local print is not so high as ours, as evidenced by tho insertion of some rubbish, to which we bad occasion to allude in our last issue. Z. can have his precious " Ode" returned if he desires to try elsewhere.
