; DxnfEDiw, August 15., A shoemaker named JRennie has been, arrested on suspicion of being connected, with the Clyde robbery. He confessed all" about it to the police, and took them' to the ; place where the treasure was hid. AH has been recovered except 30ozs of inferior gold, and two bundles of notes— about £550. The offenders are in cugtody. The treasure was hid in four different places, extending over a distance of 40 miles. One policeman is said to be implicated. An enquiry takes place this afternoon. In reference to the Clyde robbery, it is reported (says a Dunedin paper) that a telegram has been received in town, giving a few particulars as to how the man Rennie vras induced to confeai. He' was suspected by a person in the employ of Mr Hallenstein, of Qaeenstown, who supplied him with drink, and when he was in a state of intoxication, obtained' from him a confession of his share in the robbery. The policeman, M'Lennah, ~ is the son of a respectable Scotch farmer, and by trade is a working engineer. The prisoners were remanded for 8 days.-
