Maize is without alteration, arrivals being somewhat scarce ; the price is still quoted at4s6d. Oats have not been qujte so .lively to-, day. We hear of sales at 3s 8i for fair quality. Not much business has been reported outside the auction-mart, where the articles most inquired for just now— viz., cornsaoks and breadstuff's— have been sold at about the current rates. Wheat and flour realised respectively -5s 2Jd and £11 15s, and cornsacks 11s 10£ d. Kerosene oil was knocked down at 2s 2d, and privately we hear of 2s having been declined for a large parcel. Candles (damaged) were sold at 9£d to 9|l, and half sardines, 10s 3JJ. Wines and spirits are still without the Blightesfc animation, and' beyonJ an increased demand for first-class brandies— either Henneasy's, Martell's, or equally good brands— -we are unable to notice any change in this market. Bum continues in slow Bale at 3s 3d, and geneva at about 13s, for foil strength 4gaL cases. Bulk ales are difficult of sale in any qur-^iity, and bottled descriptions are only dealt in loi" small trade parcels. Hennessy's case brandy still rules at 275.
