Pablic Notices NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that an application has been made on the eleventh day of July* one thousand eight hundred and seventy, to hi 3 Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by WILLIAM NELSON, of We3t Clive, in the Province of Hawke's Bay, and Colony aforesaid, Flax Manufacturer, for the grant to him of Letters Patent under the seal of the said Colony, for the exclusive use, enjoyment, and advantage therein of a new invention for the preparation of Phormium Tenax, or New Zealand Flax, by which means the disintegration, soften* ing, and bleaching of the fibre (after the flax having passed through Price's Flax Machine or other machine of a like nature) is more perfectly effected.
