Vivid, with the intention of making war on the chief of the Island of Bau. Sereh hundred of his men had left Couka on the 26th May for Bau. The white settlers seemed to regard the war as of no concern to them. : ■ The British Consul had compelled King Thakoinbau to release the schooner Clara, whicfi itiad been lately;ctptiired by ihe Vivid, as the Clara was then under charter to white men.
