Dr Schomburgk's paper, read at the meeting of the Chamber of Manufacturers, has been published as a supplement to the G-orernment Gazette, by direction of the Governor. Police trooper Gason reports the drowning of 17 natives, in the Salt Creek, 70 miles north of Bopparamana, through the sudden influx of the floods from Queensland. He also reports a Urge : quantity of water in Lake Byre. The meeting held yesterday for promoting the establishment of a woollen factory was largely attended. Messrs Barrow and Townsend reported very favorably upon the Geelong manufactory, and resolutions were carried for establishing a company forthwith.
