WOOL BEPOBT, Wool. — Mr Helmuth Schwartz reports, April 20 : — " The sales opened firmly. A large number of home and foreign buyers attended. There was an animated competition. Some kinds are a halfpenny, some a penny dearer than during the last few dates, while all prices stand, if not higher, at least on a par with the highest quotations of the last series." The Port Phillip wools are deficient in strength of staple to an unusual degree, in consequence, probably, of the drought. The sales will last Until May 12, and will comprise 146,390 bales Australian wool, and 16,320 Cape.
