SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
Adelaide, May 19. The Government have arranged to provide return passages in the Gulnare for the selectors who proceed to the Northern Territory to choose their allotments. The rain has been very general throughout the colony, but especially heavy in the north and east, The Church of England Synod have passed a motion giving the Synod power to nominate a bishop when any vacancy occurs. May 20. His Excellency the Governor formally opened the Bushman's Home this afternoon. The Exports for the last quarter are £785,000, whilst the importa are £553,000. Miss Thome, from Victoria, is advertised to preach in the town-hall next Sunday. May 21. The Government have refused to accept the proposal of Messrs M'ELinlay, Davis, and Daly* to make a flying survey of the projected telegraph line across the continent on their return overland from the Northern Territory, on the ground that it would involve delay. Wheat is firm at 5s 3^d to 5s 4d ; and sales of country flour are reported at £12.
