TN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of -*- the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," I, Peteb Gbaot, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Riverton, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the twenty-sixth day of April, 1870, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an ELECTION will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a MEMBER of the House of Representatives for the said Electoral District, in the room of Donald Hankinson, Esq., resigned, and that the I NOMINATION of CANDIDATES will take place at the Court-house, Riverton, on WEDNESDAY, 18th May, 1870, at noon, and that the poll (if necessary) will be taken on THURSDAY, the 19th day of May, 1870.
