The Taranaki sailed this afternooa for Port Chalmers direct. A fire took place last evening in Cuba street, by which a newly-erected dwellinghouse belonging to a man named Light was destroyed. It was insured for £200 , in the Northern Insurance Co., and £100 in the New Zealand Insurance Co. Nbthing was saved. The fire broke out while all the family were absent, iMr Baillie's photographic , studio, which adjoined the house, was also burned, and all the goods were removed from Mr Bailee's house. 1 The latter, however, was saved.
