Taylor; Esq., J.Pr, was fined £1 for assaulting the police. On the 18th, D. S. Lawlor, Esq., J.P., fined an inebriate a similar sum, and disposed of a few trivial small debt suite, . On the 127 th, before H. M'Culloch, Esq., R.M., a settler named Oalder, sued another named* ATOlynibnt for ' damages for wrongful impounding of some cattle. It appeared that the cattle in question, belonging to plaintiff, had trespassed : upon defendant's partially enclosed land, whereupon he drove them off to the Wallacetown pound. "Eis "Worship ruled that the paddock trespassed upon being imperfectly fenced, defendant should. have retained possession of the cattle, and given the owner notice to that effect, when, if not removed within twelve hours, he might have impounded them. Judgment for plaintiff, with costs. Brown v. Scott was a claim for wages. Mr 'Scott had offered plaintiff £114s 6d —the amount he considered due —but plaintiff claimed payment for another week. After a careful hearing, judgment was given for Hie amount stated, plaintiff to pay his own costs. A few other minor cases were also disposed of; i
