NORTHERN NEWS.
Nelsos - , March 12th. The ship Hera, loading wool at Port Underwood, was found to be on fire yesterday, and was run ashore. By last accounts she was still burning. She had on board nearly a full cargo, consisting of wool, grain, and some flax. The cause of the fire is not known. Some conjecture that it was the act of an incendiary, as some of the crew were sent on board in irons after having deserted. Welltsqvgk, March 15th. The district prize firing for the honor of representing Wellington at the colonial prize firing in Dunedin next month, took «4jJ_ce^ to-#y. .. Messrs . Bathamj Hqjlse, and Barron, who scored 44, 43, and 43 respectively, were the successful marksmen. In the Hutt district, Mr Dick, with 40, was the only one qualified. .
