A mysterious murder has been commmitted at Casino, a small township in the Clarence district. It appears that on last Tuesday, the deceased, Colin I Campbell, who had been drinking at the house of one Palmer, \vas discovered lying on the ground in front of Palmer's dwelling with a gash under the right ear, from which he quickly expired. The .jpoijee magistrate of the district was amongst the persons on the spot who 'discovered the deceased, and it is said cries of " murder " were heard immediately before the discovery of the body. The murder was committed with a pair of shears, and is said to have been perpetrated under circumstances of great atrocity. March 10th. . In the Legislative Assembly last night a portion of the Supplementary Estimates was passed. The barque Icon, from Melbourne, has been wrecked at Rarotonga, in the South Seas. Mr Brown, a passenger, chartered a small vessel, and proceeded to Maiden Island. The schooner Crest of the Wave is reported tohave been wrecked at Fiji.
