"WELLraGTOisr, Jan. 25. At the regatta yesterday, the Canterbury boats Eed Jacket and Lurline won the^yacht and skiff races. To-day, two men-of-war's boat races took place. The Challenger won the palling, and the Liverpool the sailing race. The prize for the latter was a cup given by Captain "Rhodes. The ball given to Admiral Hornby last night was a great success. The Caledonian Games to-day were attended by about 4000 persons. A picnic at the Hutt will be given tomorrow. The Barrosa arrived this morning. She picked up two deserters in Melbourne, but lost ten of her own men.
