Per Tararua, for Melbourne — Mr and Mrs Clarke and three children, Mr Geddes ; 6 in the •teerage. The steamship Tararua arrived at the wharf at 8 a.ra. on the 25th inst. She left Hobson's Bay pt. 5 p.m. on the lith, and passed through Port Phillip Heads at 7.30. Experienced fresh easterly winds on leaving the Heads, and on the two following days light winds and a strong northerly swell ; then southerly winds until she arrived off Hokitika on the 16th ; called at Greymouth, Nelson, Wellington. Lyttelton, and arrived at Port Chalmers at 2.45 p'm. on the 23rd ; nailed at 4 p.m. on the 84th, and encountered strong head winds down the coast arriving here as above. On the Tararua's arrival at Melbourne last trip, Captain Hagley was presented with a purse of sovereigns arid ah address by his passengers.
