"WELLurGTO-T, Jan. 4th. H.M.S. Challenger has arrived to await the arrival of the Flying Squadron, which is expected to reach here on the 17th or 18th. When she left Sydney, "Wellington and Auckland were the only places intended to be visited, but it is thought on board that Lyttelton will be added, in compliance withthe Governor's request. H.M.S. Virago is coming down to remove the 18th Uegiment, and will probably call at Melbourne for deserters from the squadron. 'Commodore Lambert is not going home until his time expires, next August.
