NOTICE is hereby given, that in compliance with " The Oyster Fisheries Act, Amendment Act, 1869," I have lodged with the Commissioner of Crown Lands for the province of Southland, an application for tie issue to me of an exclusive license for the use of an oyster bed at Stewart's Island, the situation and description of which is as follows : — Commencing at a point between »he mouth of Murray River and Garden Point, and extending to a point opposite Christmas Village, being about two miles and a half long by one haLt mile wide. I AGAIN beg most respectfully to caution the Australasian Public against purchasing Ointment and Pills sold in my name unless they have the English Government Stamp affixed to the same, on which is engraved in White Letters, on a Kedand Dark Ground, the words..." I am informed that some parties are vending medicines which they are importing from the United States at a low price, and palming them off as being of my genuine manufacture. These spurious medicines have a label affixed to imitate the English Stamp ; so that much vigilance is required in order to detect the deception by examining very minutely the English. Stamp and Label affixed to the Pots and Boxes, the prices on the latter are given in English Currency, as follows : — la l£d, 2s 9d, 4s 6d, 11s, 22s 335.
