The arrivals to date were 1 86,674 bales, to which must be added 25,000 bales, mainly Port Phillip, held over from previous sales. Victorian fleece and scoured, Is 6£d. Greasy, 9£d. Australian copper quoted 1 at £77 to £77 10s per ton. The exports to New Zealand amount to £167,535, showing an increase of £77,231. New Zealand fives, 1891, 90 to 92 ; do, sixes, 1891, March — September, 104 to 106. Messrs Stables, Straker, and Co.'s circular states the declared value of exports for the past four weeks to be as follows : — Melbourne, £592,182 ; Sydney, £211,328 ; South Australia, £119,074. Australian securities are firm. New South Wales 5 per cents, 100£ to 101±. South Australian 6 per cents, 110 to 111. Victoria 6 per cents, 112 to 113*. English wheat, new, 48s ; old, 565. August 27th. August sales of Australian wool were very spirited. Sydney wools fetched l£d to 2d per lb. advance, and Port Phillip, £d per lb. -advance.
