"Wellington, Aug. 3rd, 4 p.m. The report that King Tawhiao, instead of fraternising with Te Kooti, had ordered him off his territory is confirmed by Mr M'Kay, Native Commissioner, who has arrived in Napier, from the Thames. Napieb, August 3rd. Te Kooti has left Waikato for Taupo. Seven rebels have been arrested at Ngarmwhia with arms and ammunition parchased in Auckland. A clue as to the party supplying them with the same has been obtained.
