VICTORIA.
Telegraphic communication now exists between Victoria and Tasmania. Congratulating messages passed between the Governors of both colonies on the Ist instant. Mr Jones, who some time since was expelled from the Assembly, for receiving bribes, again offers himself for reelection at Ballarat. , ' , ;' , f Messrs Qtiarterman and Glass were committed to the Melbourne gaol by the Speaker's warrant, oji the charge of bribery, but were subsequently discharged by order of the ' Chief Justice, on the ground of informality in the warrant.
