PAB3ENGEB I/IST.
Per Rangitoto, from Dunedin —Messrs Gellatly and Clode ; 11 in steerage. Per Rangitoto, for Melbourne —Messrs Basstian and D. Taylor, and 6 in steerage. The M.A. and N.Z. Co.'s s.s. Rangitoto, Capt. Hagley, arrived alongside the Bluff Harbor wharf at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, from Melbourne via West Coast and Northern ports. The Rangitoto sailed from Hobson's Bay on the 20th ult. at 2.50 p.m., and cleared Port Phillip Heads at 6.50 p.m. Strong winds and fine clear weather were experienced till her arrival off Hokitiia, at 6 p.m. on the 25th; left next day at 5.15 p.m., and arrived off G-reymouth at 8 p.m.; left on 27th at 9.10 a.m. for Nelson, where she arrived at 8 a.m. on the 28th ; left at 10.15 p.m. on the 29th, and arrived at Wellington at 9.20 a.m. next day; sailed again at 2.45 p.m. on the 31st, and arrived at Lyttelton at 7 a.m. on the Ist, having experienced fine weather from Hokitika; left on the 2nd at 3.30 p.m., encountered strong head winds and heavy sea to arrival at Port Chalmers, on the 4th at 2 p.m.; left again at 5.30 p.m. on the sth, and came into Bluff Harbor as above; left again for Melbourne at 12.30 p.m. In consequence of the great number of steerage passengers from Otago and other ports, extra berths had to be put up for 20 passengers. This line of steamers can scarcely accommodate the number of paßßengers going to and from Melbourne, and, no doubt, Messrs M'Meckan and Blackwood will soon put other boats on the service. The Claud Hamilton is now ready, and will take, her place shortly.
