Imperial Tboops. — The following resolution was passed by the Wellington Provincial Council recently ; — The Council appreciates the grave position of the colony at the present time, and deeply laments tho terrible disasters which hare befallen the colonists of this island, and tbe Council is of opinion that those disasters and the ill-success which hug hitherto attended our arms, ore mainly to be attributed to the withdrawal of the Imperial troops without any adequate provision having been made to itipply their place by a local force."
