Tikes Office, Saturday Evening. The following are the Customs returns for—

The ' Daily Times' of the 6th inst. says : — Import houses have not to-day been engaged in any noticeable transactions. The home mails arriving this afternoon, were received at too late an hoar to allow of any business taking place afterwards, and in consequence no move in the market was apparent. In breadstuff* and grain there is a continued steady demand, but nothing further; the new crop is offering freely, but without much disposition on the part of buyers to take up large parcels. Sales of sugars are reported at full rates, but in the absence of stocks in first hands, quotations are, for the purposes of comparison, but of little use. One or two lines of teas quitted have witnessed fairly- maintained rates, medium to good medium congous, in halves, realising Is 8d to -Is lid, with slightly higher rates for corresponding qualities in boxes. liquids have been without attention, except in such small parcels as to need no notice. There is a disposition to take up'kerosene, but holders are at 2s 3d in bond, which rate is now given for small parcels. Oornsacks£ in mode, ate lots have been placed at prices not transpiring, and oilmen's stores are inclined to move at rather bettor rates. We cannot refer to any business by auction.
