Hack Race of 10 soys. 1 Hstance, once round the course. Heats. Catch weights. Entrance, 10s. Post entry. RULES AND REGULATIONS. No entries will be received for any of the Races except upon these conditions, that all claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme, shall be final. S.JR.C. Rules strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of 3 soys. to the Race Fund — unless he be a member of the Southland Racing Club, when 1 soy. shall qualify. All entries must be sealed and addressed to the Stewards (entrance money enclosed), with name, age, pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Three horses to be entered, or no public money will be added. No Jockey allowed to ride except in the colors entered. Entries must be made to the Stewards, and addressed to the Prince of Wales Hotel, Invercargill, before the hour of eight o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 2nd of March, 1869. Handicaps will be declared the same night, except for Invercargill Handicap, which will be declared on the evening of Thursday, the 4th of March, 1869, at Pelling's Hotel, Wallacetown, at 8 p.m. All dogs found on the Course will be destroyed, irrespective of ownership.
