Per Lord Ashley, from Northern Ports — Mrs Smvth, Mrs Jones* nnd child, Miss Churchwood, and Mr Hughes ; 4 in the steerage. The ss. lord Ashley, Captain Worsp, now under the flag of the "Circular Saw Line," arrived alongside the Bluff Harbor wharf on Saturday, 27th nit., at 9 a.m. She sailed from Auckland at 4.45 pm. on the 16th inst. On the 9ame evening she passed the barque Eucalyptus, with stock, and a b-ig showing the third distinguishing pendant 9-6 i, beating up for Auckand harbor. Napier was reached at 3 p.m. on the 18th. Af*>»v receiving on board a few bales of wool, passengers, and mails, she left s»t 8 p.m. B;ime day. and arrived at Wellington at 6.10 p m. on the 19th : sailed again at 5 p.m. on the 22nd, and arrived at Lyttelton at 10.30 a.m. next day -. left at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, and arrired at Port Chalmers at half-past twelve on the 25 Mi. She reports a heavy gsile of wind from the north east in going into Lyttelton Harbor. The steamer Betsy Douglas was struck by a heavy sea in going into I.yttelton, which did rou< h damage, and washed overboard three people, one of them was drowned ; this was on the afterno' n of the 24th. With the exception of the gale at Ljtteltr>n. she had fine weather throughout the pascage.
