METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATIONS IN NOVEMBER, 1868. » ■ ■ Remarks. — The -weather was very fine, dry and warm, until the 14th, when a severe thunderstorm occurred, with a fall of I*l7 inches of rain ; the lightning was overhead and extremely vivid. A change of weather followed, and the remainder of the month was stormy and changeable, with much hail, rain, thunder, lightning, and strong wind. There was another jheavy thunderstorm on the 24th, also in the evening. On the 18th the exposed radiation thermometer registered a maximum temperature of 146 deg. (in sun's rays) and a minimum of 31 dg. (on grais) ; tuo difference being no less than 115 degrees. The mean temperature of the air was 536 deg., which is 3*l deg. below the average of the aarna month in 10 years. • The rainfall was 4*83 inches, 1*44 in. in excess of the 10 years' average .
