A CORRECTION. (TO THE EDITOE OP THE SOUTHLAND TIMES). Sib, — in your issue of Friday last you have fallen into error in stating that the Riverton coach conveying the Invercargill Volunteers from this town to liiverton da ! the morning of Wednesday, the 2ad inst,, was upset. The facts are : When the coach got a short distance from the Wairaatuku, the pole chain broke, but I pulled up without accident, and gave the reins tq^ne of > the passengers. While I was making the repairs the hofses { starred, nie'^ down;' 'arid dragging — ike — coaeh — ever — my—bedy-*---they then ran ., straight along the beach— fop-a - quarter .of--a_mile,_whea-they were, v ea.sily, r] puUe<L . The coach never capsized, and the passengers might, -have, beeiij frightened,^.^ut^iiey could not have been much shaken!/ as with the exception of one jerk^ sv;hen the wheels passed^ove'r toe/^the ground was levei-and .aan4y,s->i'>-'.
