Tom Sayers was bred by Mr Lockhart, Kirkmanoch, Stranraer, and of a thorough-bred Clydesdale mare, got by Rob Roy, the sire of Black Leg. PEDIGBEE: ;, Scotland's Pride was foaled in 1857, bred by "Mr John Anderson, of Smythson, Scotland; the celebrated Clydesdale mare, which gained the First Prize at the Highland Society's Show at Dumfries, in.1860, beating thirty-two others, considered very superior over all in her class (see Journal of Agriculture of the Highland Society of Scotland). The Sire was the celebrated Clydesdale Horse Lofty, who gained Hie Premium at Glasgow, open to all Scotland and England. Clydesdale Hero will travel the Riverton and surrounding Districts.
