Superintendent's Office, 16th October, 1868 QIR, — As the Government has reason to" believe that a large proportion of the Assisted Immigrants are now in a position to pay their passage money, you are hereby instructed to take such measures as may be necessary,- through the Provincial Solicitor or otherwise, to enforce payment of the same. Those who neither make any payment, nor arrangement- for the purpose within the first fourteen days of /November next, will have themselves to blame for any disagreeable steps that may betaken; By this further delay' of at least a fortnight Immigrants, or their sureties, will be enabled to arrange accordingly.
